Challenge

To develop ADAS components for a new vehicle platform

A premium car manufacturer needed to develop driver assistance system components and bring them to serial production. The components had to process data from a camera, radar sensors, and a control unit.

The key challenge was to ensure reliable operation of the hardware and software components under real automotive operating conditions, including different road scenarios, weather conditions, driving speeds, and safety requirements.

Special attention was paid to integrating the components into the vehicle architecture, validating the functions, and preparing the solutions for serial production.

Solution

We contributed to the development of components and functions for a driver assistance system that combines machine vision, short-range and long-range radar sensors, and an ADAS control unit.

The work included requirements analysis, participation in the development of hardware and software components, sensor data integration, and verification of correct function operation as part of the vehicle.

To confirm the reliability of the solutions, components and functions were validated at different stages of the project — from engineering samples to preparation of the products for serial production.

Scope of work

We developed and validated key components of the driver assistance system:

— front-facing camera;
— short-range radar sensor;
— long-range radar sensor;
— driver assistance system control unit;
— sensor data processing algorithms;
— driver support functions based on camera and radar data.

We also carried out work on:

— integrating the components into the vehicle’s electronic architecture;
— verifying function performance and preparing the components for serial production.

Results

The following components were developed:

— front-facing camera;
— short-range radar sensor;
— long-range radar sensor;
— driver assistance system control unit.

Component and function validation was completed. Serial production of the products was launched.
